EFT Certification and Assessment

Visit AAMET.org onlineReady to become a certified EFT professional? Once you finish your Level 2 course, your AAMET Trainer (or group of trainers) will offer an assessment package (at additional cost) to determine your competency using core EFT skills. Upon successful completion of this assessment, you then become eligible to join AAMET at the Certified EFT Practitioner level.

Assessment and Cost:

When you are ready to become certified, I can review your EFT experience, assess your skills accordingly and potentially be a supervisory resource for you along the way.

The price for my full assessment package is $795 (which includes 6 hours required mentoring for AAMET), payable whenever you have completed your training and are ready to begin the assessment process. This cost is for the time it takes to review the three case studies, one-hour recorded session and multiple choice exam you will be asked to complete. The Full Package also includes 6 hours 1-to-1 supervision sessions via phone or skype. These supervision sessions are where you bring challenging cases and questions for discussion and assistance.

There is an opportunity for Group Mentoring/Supervision and Assessment that involves spending the 12 hours with a group (instead of the 6 hour mentoring requirement). Feel free to contact me about this.

At the end of the assessment, it is my intention and expectation that you will be ready to join the AAMET at the Certified EFT Practitioner level. Please understand, of course, that no trainer can automatically guarantee your advancement. If I have assessed your work and believe that additional demonstration of your skills is required before my recommendation, this will be clearly discussed between us, on a case-by-case basis. My job is to ensure that you have demonstrated competence at the practitioner level and to help you reach this goal.

Please Note:For AAMET Advancement, 6 hours of supervision and mentoring is required. The ability to get feedback and support from an experienced EFTer will help you make a big leaps in your confidence, skill and effectiveness as a practitioner.

Case Studies and Live Session Recording

For AAMET Certification, students are required to submit a minimum of three case studies that demonstrate an in-depth exploration of issues and competent use of techniques. Additionally, I require that students submit a recorded one-hour session that demonstrates competence with the required EFT skills.

Case Study 1: A personal issue affecting your past/present, including changes you experienced and those your foresee that may be made due to the work you have done using EFT.

Case Studies 2/3: Working with clients, identifying different aspects of a core issue and demonstrating the use of several methods used to achieve results.

Session Recording: Please provide a one-hour session that demonstrates a good example of your work in action – any kind of EFT session that shows your handling of multiple aspects and an exploration of core issues. This can be a phone session or a session that was recorded live. Please email your recording as a link or as an Mp3/Mp4.

Multiple issues and physical and emotional issues may occur in the same case. Each case may consist of one or several sessions with the same person depending upon their needs. It is not necessary for a case to be successful: You can sometimes learn a great deal from analyzing your failures. It is perfectly satisfactory to present a case in which you did not achieve complete resolution of the issues.

Please obtain permission to submit a case from the subject and assure them of complete confidentiality at all times. Real identities or circumstances which might identify a person must not be included.

Supervision and Testing

AAMET requires that I spend 6 hours of supervisory time together with you, for questions and answers about the process, discussion about challenging cases and a verbal assessment of your knowledge and ability to practice. At this time, we will also go over anything you may have missed on your multiple choice test. At this point, if you have demonstrated competence in your knowledge, understanding, and delivery of core skills, you will be able to apply immediately for AAMET membership at the Certified EFT Practitioner level.

Steps Towards AAMET Certification: An Overview

AAMET serves it’s members (and the EFT community as a whole) by laying out clear step-by-step learning guidelines for membership at the Certified EFT Practitioner and Certified Advanced EFT Practitioner levels. As an AAMET EFT Trainer, I am responsible for ensuring that my students wishing to become certified demonstrate the required skills (core competencies) in an assessment before moving forward. Below is overview of each step along the way:

Coursework and Practice Requirements:
  • Complete a Level 1 course or demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Complete the Level 2 course
  • Provide three case studies (session writeups) that demonstrate a practical understanding of core EFT skills
  • Provide a one-hour recorded session which demonstrates your competent, individualized EFT approach with a subject
  • Complete and submit a multiple choice test that demonstrates core EFT knowledge
  • Complete 50 EFT sessions with at least 25 clients
  • Complete 6 Hours of Mentoring/Supervision (1-to-1) or 12 hours with a group
What Happens Next?
  • At this point, you will receive from me a certificate acknowledging completion of all practitioner requirements
  • You may then apply to the AAMET directly with your new credentials for membership at EFT Practitioner Level (Application fee: about $150)
  • AAMET will contact me to verify that you have demonstrated the required skills
  • Upon verification of your completion of the requirements, AAMET grants you full EFT Practitioner Certification
  • You will be a Certified EFT Practitioner as long as you agree to honor AAMET’s continuing education requirements
